Summary of Project:
The Tackle can Wait Project was established to give children in Cathedral City, and surrounding Desert cities, the chance to learn the fundamentals of football without the fear of serious injury or concussion. Research of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is becoming more prevalent. Football experts from coaches to Hall Of Fame players agree, " You DO NOT need to start tackle football at a young age to be a great football player. Until tackle football is proven safe for the developing brain, we urgently recommend flag and other non-tackle versions of football before age 14." Please partner with NFL FLAG CC to help us offer a safe alternative to youth tackle football.
NFL FLAG CC, founded in May 2022, is dedicated to providing a safe, fun, positive learning environment that is affordable for all families. We practice Monday-Thursday and play flag football games on Friday nights at Dennis Keat Soccer Park 69400 30th Ave Cathedral City, CA. We have partnered with AYSO Region 1200 to help pay for Use of Facilities and Field Maintenance costs associated with using and maintaining a youth sporting facility. Our on-going professional relationship with AYSO and Cathedral City officials continues to directly benefiting youth sports in Cathedral City.
The Tackle Can Wait project will help us develop and maintain a scholarship program to help families with the cost of registration and equipment. We will set up a process to assess the needs of each family that applies for a scholarship, and fund half or full scholarships based on financial need. With AFC funding, we will be able to offer 40 full scholarships. We will work with local businesses to continue our scholarship program for future flag football players. Please join us in setting up this awesome way to give back to the community.
The Tackle Can Wait project will help spread the word about CTE and our new NFL FLAG Football League in Cathedral City. With AFC funding we will be able to offer an affordable youth sport that teaches the fundamentals of football, but more importantly, how to be a Champion in Life . Players will receive NFL jerseys, shorts and flags provided by NFL flag with each registration. Funding the Tackle Can Wait project will help keep the registration affordable for more families to play flag football. Please help us launch this exciting NFL flag football league in Cathedral City. It will be the first and only flag football league in Cathedral City.

NFL FLAG CC will help reduce the rate of CTE by offering a safe alternative to youth tackle football
