Joshua Otteson our league organizer, was a former Hall Of Fame College Quarterback at the University of Jamestown.  Awarded 7 time NDCAC League player of the week '97-'99, NDCAC League MVP 1998, NDCAC League Offensive MVP 1999, 8 school records broken-'96-'99 University of Jamestown.  1997,1998 University of Jamestown Hall of Fame inducted in 2007, 2018.  College coach Bud Etzold quoted "Otteson a quarterback with a linebacker mentality, his 3 touchdown comeback win against Minot in 1998 was a highlight of an outstanding career."

Following a career ending shoulder injury in 2000, Otteson found coaching his teammates was almost as much fun as playing.  "I found a passion for helping others learn the skills and knowledge necessary to compete at the highest level, or maximum potential of each individual. It was fun to watch film and teach other quarterbacks how to see the whole field and take what the defense gives you. Don't force it, people will make mistakes, let them blitz.  See it, own it, take the hit, and throw touchdowns.  Nothing beats throwing a ball to a receiver just as you get laid out and the crowd goes wild.  Love it, and couldn't get enough of it, until my body finally broke down."

In the summer just before Otteson's senior year, he taught swimming lessons, and coached the local JV swim team.  Otteson soon found the family passion for teaching, and coaching.  "I taught a 3 year old, from start to finish, how to swim across the width of a 25 yard pool.  The look on her face, and that of her family was priceless.  With ambitions to become a Doctor of Chiropractic, Otteson changed majors to Kinesiology, Health & Human Performance, with an emphasis on K-12 physical education and health.

Summer of 2000, Otteson transfers to University of Montana. While finishing up a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and Human Performance, Otteson coached HS Track, Football, and Basketball.  This experience led to the OTTESON Quarterback Challenge camp in the summers of 2003-2005.  During this time Otteson marries long time best friend and moves to Palm Springs, CA.

Otteson has over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience, MA in EdAdmin, Owner and Coach of Elite Otter Swim Team Est. March 2018, and NFL FLAG CC Est. May 2022, and Coachella Valley NFL FLAG Est. Aug. 2023.
